Sail Boat Monthly Service
|
|
What We Clean?
|
| RUNNING
GEAR: Clean propellers, shafts,
struts, through hulls, transducers, knot logs, and
inspect zincs.
HULL:
Clean the entire hull from the top of boot stripe down to
bottom of the keel.
|
Why Clean The Bottom?
|
| The
running gear is cleaned because it collects barnacles due to the bottom paint not adhering and reaction of the metal to the paint.
Through hull fittings are cleared to prevent engines from overheating
and intakes and outlets from becoming clogged with barnacles.
Since most sailboats do not move fast enough to clean the algae off,
the hull should be scrubbed each month.
